What are digitally enabled products & services?

Introduction

What do you get when you combine the word “digitally” with “enabled”? Not a computer program, but rather a product or service that is digitally enabled. A digitally enabled product or service can be made up of hardware as well as software, data and algorithms. It’s a term used to describe products and services that integrate digital functionality into their core design such that they become more than just physical objects but part of an interconnected ecosystem of data collection, storage and analysis technologies known as the internet of things (IoT).

Digitally Enabled Products & Services are products and services that integrate digital functionality.

Digital functionality can come in many forms, including but not limited to the following examples:

  • Smart features such as the ability to order something online, change the payment method or cancel an order using a mobile phone.
  • Augmented reality (AR) that uses location data to provide more information about your surroundings when looking at them through your device’s camera lens. For example, you may be able to see if there is free parking around your hotel after booking it on your phone beforehand!

  • Voice recognition technology that allows you to talk to your device instead of typing on it or swiping through menus.

  • Mobile apps: Apps for smartphones, tablets and other portable devices that can be downloaded from the internet.
  • Mobile websites: Websites designed for viewing on a mobile phone or tablet. The term “mobile” refers to the fact that these sites are optimized for viewing on small screens (and often feature an interface optimized for touch input).
  • Voice assistants: These devices allow users to interact with computers simply by speaking into them, rather than typing or clicking on buttons. They are part of a broader trend called “natural language processing,” which means machines can understand human speech better than ever before–and respond accordingly! Examples include Amazon’s Alexa assistant; Google Assistant (which comes built into many Android phones), Apple’s Siri assistant; Facebook Messenger bots; Microsoft Cortana virtual assistant software…and so much more!

Connectivity between products and services with other digital devices or applications.

Connectivity can be achieved through a variety of methods including but not limited to: WiFi, Bluetooth, WiFi Direct, Zigbee and Zwave.

Integration with cloud-based software platforms that store data and provide analytics capabilities.

Cloud computing is a way of using the internet to store and access data and programs. Cloud computing allows users to access their files from any computer, smartphone or tablet.

This means that you can use your favorite word processing software on your computer at home, then continue working on it from work without having to transfer anything over manually. All of your data will be stored in the cloud (on servers owned by someone else) instead of on your local device’s hard drive. This makes it easy for people who share files with each other–for example, if two employees need access to the same spreadsheet–to share documents without worrying about file formats or compatibility issues between operating systems.*

Sensors and other technologies embedded within a product or service that are able to collect data on how it is being used or on events occurring around it. For example, sensors in a car might tell you when your tires need air, when the oil needs changing or when someone has broken into your house through your window, all without human intervention or even touch.

These products and services can also include smart home systems that use artificial intelligence (AI) to control your heating and lighting systems based on factors such as time of day and weather conditions outside; AI assistants like Alexa that understand natural language commands so you don’t have to remember complex set-up instructions; self-driving cars which monitor traffic conditions around them while driving autonomously so they never get stuck at a red light; drones flying overhead carrying out aerial surveillance missions for police departments…

The ability for users of digitally enabled products and services to manipulate them remotely, from anywhere in the world. Nowadays we can control everything from our office lights, thermostats and coffee makers to our cars, home security systems and even refrigerators from anywhere via apps on our smartphones or other devices like Amazon’s Alexa or Apple’s HomePod speaker which act like personal assistants with artificially intelligent voice recognition capabilities.

Conclusion

In conclusion, we can see that the world is becoming increasingly digital. It’s not just about computers anymore – it’s about everything around us. The ability to control our homes and cars remotely, order something online without ever leaving our sofa or get information on our smartphones at any time of day or night has changed how we live our lives forever.
